Living Wage Employer
We recently received confirmation that Tullos Training Ltd has been accredited as a Living Wage Employer by the Living Wage Foundation. The Living Wage sheme highlights the widening gap between the National Living Wage and the Real Living Wage by raising awareness and encouraging employers to close the gap.
Tullos Training Ltd is based in Scotland where nearly a fifth of all jobs (17%) pay less than the Real Living Wage. This is equivalent to around 380,000 jobs. Despite this, Tullos Training Ltd has committed to pay the Real Living Wage and deliver a fair day’s pay for a hard day’s work.
The Real Living Wage is the only rate calculated each year according to the costs of living. It provides a voluntary benchmark for employers that wish to ensure their staff earn a wage they can live on, not just the government minimum. Since 2011 the Living Wage movement has delivered a pay rise to over 200,000 people and put over £1 billion extra into the pockets of low paid workers.
Paying a living wage is acknowledgement of the value of people’s contribution to the business.
